Exchange of wedding rings during the church oath

The groom begins:

“(the name of the bride) accept this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

After the groom, the same words are repeated by the bride:

“(the name of the groom) accept this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

 

At the Registry Office taking an oath is very similar. The words of the oath are repeated after the clerk and read as follows:

The groom begins:

“Aware of the rights and obligations arising from starting a family, I solemnly declare, that I am getting married with (the name of the bride) and I swear, that I will do everything, that our marriage may be compatible, happy and lasting.”

After the groom, the same words are repeated by the bride:

“Aware of the rights and obligations resulting from starting a family, I solemnly declare, that I am getting married with (the name of the groom) and I swear, that I will do everything, that our marriage may be compatible, happy and lasting.”

Then the clerk announces:

In view of the unanimous statement of both parties, submitted in the presence of witnesses, I declare, that the Marriage of Mrs.(…) and the Lord (…) was concluded in accordance with the regulations. As a symbol of your relationship, please mention the wedding rings.
