St. Patrick's Day. Simon and St.. Judy (28 October)
Saint Simon was one of the twelve apostles, called by St.. Mark the Canaanite, and by St.. Łukasz Zelota (both names correspond to one Hebrew name). Together with St.. Judah was martyred in Persia, where he preached. Saint Jude, also known as Tadeusz, he is the author of a letter to Christians, dated before the fall of Jerusalem.
The traditional English dish served on this day was pears cooked in red wine with cinnamon and cloves.
